Elves are a sapient and dimwitted species in Disenchantment. Their entire species lives in Elfwood and hasn't been seen outside of the magically barred kingdom by humans for centuries. They spend all day making candy, singing and obeying the Jolly Code. It is unknown who created this code, or why they follow it so intently.

List of Known Elves

To keep this list from being incredibly exhaustive, it will only included elves which either have been named, or have been relevant to the story in some way or another.

• Kissy

She is the first elf that Elfo interacts with. She is the daughter of the Elf King and is therefore an elf princess.

• Singo

This is one of the two elves Elfo addresses when he expresses his discontent with their habitual lifestyle.

• Worko

This is one of the two elves Elfo addresses when he expresses his discontent with their habitual lifestyle. Worko is much more elderly than the other elves show.

• Shocko

Shocko is a character that expresses shock more often than most people would, his frequent gasps, when used, are used as a sort of gasp-track (rather than a laugh track). It is unknown why he behaves this way, though it may just be a personality quirk, his name models it.

• Weirdo

Weirdo is an elf that was spying on Elfo and Kissy when they were getting intimate, Elfo demanded he leave, but the request was given off as if this wasn't out-of-character for Weirdo. Weirdo's demeanor seems to be played to imply he is a peeping tom, if not a generalized pervert.

• Elf King

He is an older man and the father of Kissy. When he walked in on his daughter sleeping with Elfo, he told Elfo he would be hung, since this was the last straw for him. Once Elfo did not die of asphyxiation, the group, upon the king's command decided to stab him, when Kissy stopped her father and told him he could not just 'kill every guy that kisses [her]'. This might mean he has had even more people put to death, possibly for this same reason. He follows the Jolly Code strictly, and forbids the outside world

• Superviso

Superviso is the supervisor of the candy assembly-line in Elfwood. He seems to have a disliking towards Elfo which may stem from his grumpy work ethic, or it may just be Superviso's bossy demeanor that makes him come off that way. He attended Elfo's attempted hanging.

• Leavo

Leavo is the only known elf besides Elfo to leave Elfwood.

• Speako

Speako once mentioned Leavo during an altercation with the other elves versus Elfo, and he was commanded by the king to speak no more of Leavo, implying that Leavo is a pariah.

• Returno

It is said no elf had ever returned from leaving Elfwood. Not even Returno, which may mean Returno never left or that he went missing once he left.

• Examplo

Examplo is a cousin of Elfo, and by his cousin's word, if you look up Elf in the dictionary, Examplo appears as the diagram.

Trivia

• The elves names are somewhat demonstrative of their roles or behaviours: Singo sings, Worko works, Shocko expresses shock. Sometimes they are used ironic for comic effect: no one ever returns - not even Returno! Speako is commanded to speak no more of Leavo. Weirdo is, well, weird.
• It is unclear (and will probably never be known) how the elves get their names, but it is clear that the naming convention is played for laughs, and they shouldn't be taken too seriously or literally. (Clearly all the elves work, but there is only ne Worko).
