The Fall of Dreamland was an event caused by the return of Queen Dagmar to whom was in league with Emperor Cloyd and the Maruvians. As all of King Zög subjects were frozen into store, Maru has won a grand victory.
Background[]
Queen Dagmar was brought back to life by Bean who used the Elixir of Life, and thus the kingdom celebrated her return. However King Zög began to grow unhappy and revealed more about himself to Luci who uses the crystal ball that Tess returned during Elfo's funeral, so that he could witness events from the past. Luci shows Zog what really happened in the tower the night Dagmar was turned to stone. Dagmar had in fact accidentally poisoned herself. Zøg is surprised, and he realizes that if Bean hadn't switched his and Dagmar's glasses, he'd be "out in the courtyard with pigeons crapping on [his] head", according to Luci.
Dreamland Falls[]
As residents of Dreamland slowly and mysteriously being turning to stone. Dagmar (who is working for Maru) takes Bean to a secret library while Luci reveals to King Zög that Dagmar tried to poison him all those years ago. Queen Oona decided to flee after making a deal of some kind with Prime Minster Odval while Zog keeps Derek "safe" in a tower, Dagmar meanwhile tells Bean that Zøg wants to change her, and that she loves her as she was "born to be".
Dagmar says this while making a potion of some sort. She hears Zøg approaching after Luci told him to way to enter, and confronts him. Zøg says they could've simply gone to marriage counseling, and Dagmar pushes him down the stairs and pours her potion down the stairs. Luci, about to enter, Zøg runs in fear and climbs up a balcony, and tells someone that his wife is attacking. He is asked which one, and he comments that he knows how to pick them. He and Luci jump from the balcony, and find that Odval has summoned the Knights of the Zog Table but to no avail as they don't escape in time, as the kingdom continues to be turned into store, Dagmar and Bean escape on a boat with creatures. The only person not seen frozen as a statue is Zog, who says that he has nothing else to lose, only to drop his crown in the sea. He starts screaming in anger. Dreamland falls.
