Demons are a species of malevolent creatures from Hell. In Disenchantment, they are often depicted as slender, shadow-like beings with pointed ears, tails, and occasionally wings. There are still demons of a different shape, such as Satan or Asmodium, have a complete appearance and have red skin and horns.
Anatomy[]
Demons are small, thin, shadow-like creatures with large eyes, pointed ears, and arrow-shaped tails. Many of them appear to have pronounced noses and protruding fangs. They closely resemble cats enough that a majority of Dreamland residents often confuse Luci for a harmless feline with the ability to speak. Sub Demons, like Luci, are about the size of a cat. They can be granted more power by a superior such as Asmodium, which is usually accompanied by an increase in rank. If promoted, Sub Demons become bigger and are endowed with wings, enabling them to fly. The highest rank of demon is Uber Demon.
Behavior[]
Demons are inherently evil - at least, that is the common nature of most demons. They can be sent to do the bidding of magicians or sorcerers - such as the Maruvian Enchantress and Emperor Cloyd - by way of a curse, or a magical bond.
Mortality[]
Demons are immortal under normal circumstances, though they can still feel pain. However, Asmodium can strip a demon of this trait if he so chooses, thereby making them mortal. Additionally, if demons are locked in a special bottle, which seals their powers, they can be permanently killed by being thrown into lava, even if they have not been rendered mortal.
